Hey guys I know this is the wrong forum but I put it this in the Protege forum and no one responded. I come in here alot and just read stuff, and it seems like you guys know what your doing sooo heres my old post, and sorry its long..(mods if you need to move it it's fine)

Hey guys, yes I'm only 15 but I have some idea of what I'm doing with cars and my moms car is having some trouble soo I just wanted your advice. It's a 2000 Protege I don't know the model but it's the 1.8L DOHC. When I try to start it sometimes it takes longer than most cars when it's cold (don't know if this is normal or has to do with the problem but im not sure). Once its started it will be ok for a while but the idle will go up and down a couple hundred rpm's. I usually notice this when it's in gear, I will go up the driveway in drive and going at a constant speed then the rpm's will go up and the car pull forward faster then go to normal. It has new plugs, and air filter but im thinking it might be a vacuum leak, or something will the fuel system. If it's the vacuum leak can u tell me how to check it, and where. I put a screwdriver on the injectors and they all were clicking steadly so I doubt its those. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to let you guys know everything. Thanks in advance. (If you need to IM me my name is HLxDrummer on AIM/AOL)
