Broken Passenger Seat

Hello All,
I have a 1996 GMC 1500 4X4 extended cab. It has the split bench front seat with the console in the middle. I usually keep the front passenger side tipped forward because I have 2 child restraint seats in the back. The passenger side seat is tipped forward by moving the lever on the side of the back of the front seat forward, and it tips forward and slides to the front on its rails. I went to set the seat back in the upright position and it will no longer catch. The back free-floats all the way forward to all the way back. The seat itself will lock into place as far as front-to back sliding on the rails, but nothing to catch the seat back position. I've looked at it a couple of times, but don't see anything obvious. Anyone delt with this before?
Thanks in advance!
Patrick

I had the same problem...luckily the seat was recalled on my 93. Call your local GMC dealer and ask the service department if your truck is included in the recall. They will ask for the VIN and look it up for you.
