I know a guy who sayd he saw a SVX do 12 sec in the 1/4 mile with a t3/t4 turbo system pushing 20psi on stock internals and i was wondering if this is possable in real life or if he is just makeing this up.
Thanks.

I don't think the trans would hold up to any kind of power

It might hold up for a bit longer if you get a better radiator or tranny cooler or just swap it for the later model tougher Subaru trannies not to mention having a tranny shop rebuilding it with tougher gears, rings and even a clutch if needed if you are planning on putting in a t3 and up as well as boosting it that much.

As for an SVX with a turbocharger of that size, for one thing it would be incredibly hard to put it in with cutting up or re-arranging anything under the hood. You also have to consider where to put the intercooler, whether you should get a new hood for an overhead or cut up the fender well to fit in an FMIC. There are also other factors to consider such as larger fuel injectors as well as a more powerful fuel pump, changing the fuel timing, larger exhaust pipe, lower compression pistons and maybe some electrical tweaking.

I am not saying it can't be done. Actually to the contrary there a few turbocharged SVXs out there with one that has a T3 turbocharger in it. And in fact there is one person somewhere in the Caribbean that has a very large turbo in it, however he has to re-arrange, replace and saw some spots under the hood. I’ll be sure to get pics for it when I find the thread which info about it is on.

The thing is you can turbocharge an SVX, but like any car which is designed to be NA in stock form it is harder to do then one which is turbocharged stock or is the equivalent of one that has a turbocharged trim.

Fact 1: The SVX 4eat has been used in 9 second cars.

Fact 2: The t3/t4 turbo is too small for the SVX.

Fact 3: Stock internals will not hold up to that kind of boost.

I can't believe threads from 2005 are on the front page...
