I'd like to add sub woofers but don't want to give up much space (or any space really) in the back of my 2003 Escalade. Anyone have ideas?
I've thought about a custom built box which uses the back left area (above the rear well) or in between my captain seats I have in the second row. It would have to still be flat enough so that when those chairs fold down, it would be flush.

Well u could get a box that would fit right up against your rear seats, but when u fold the seats down its would be in the way.
you could also get that fiber shit and make a box on either side of the back bay area but i would do that on the right side because i think (not sure with the 2003 model) your jack and every thing goes on the left
Hope this gives you some thoughts.

If you go to http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2ATIUH37X5b/, MTX makes a cust space safing sub box, and a option build in amp. Still pretty much have all your room in the cargo area without having a huge box. Sounds pretty good. and wouldn't burn the wallet too bad.

I went to crutchfield and unfortunately, there weren't any custom enclosures that fit the 2003 Escalade. Seems odd. They have universal ones, is that what you were referring to?

:nono: you shouldn put any subwoofers in your car, you obviously are so concerned about space whatever sub u get wont get the right airspace and will probably sound bad leave subwoofers to guys like us who put 4 12's in the back n get crunk. you probably need the space for A car seat anyway

you can go with the flat woofers from mtx and kenwood (i think) under your seats
