Hey everyone:
Newbie here, but am in need of your assistance/expertise. My 02 TB has a bad fan clutch, and I am going to do it myself. I have been searching for a how-to, but have had no luck. I know that there is a specific tool I have to purchase in order to get it done, but I want to do this the right way the first time. Is there anyone here that has done this before, and wouldn't mind posting a how-to? I will be forever in your debt if you can give me some assistance.
Thanks a bunch, everybody!

A good website to check out is:
www.alldatadiy.com
This is autozone's how to manual for any car online. It has worlds and worlds of info, even pics and diagrams on how to do major jobs. Definitly helps any skill level, it has saved my butt a couple of times.

Hello! I am having the same problem and I called Chevrolet and they told me that if I can get people to call in to the dealership or to Chevrolet then they will eventually recall the fan clutch and if you have paid to have it fixed then you will be reimbursed for your expenses.

Recently I had my check engine light come on and have noticed that the engine sounds like it is racing high when in drive. The fan is on at all times and it sounds as though the racing noise is actually coming from the fan. Are these the same symptoms that you are having? If yes, and the clutch is indeed the problem, how much does it cost to have fixed? Could it be only a computer problem? How much does it cost to have the computer adjusted to fix this problem?
As we all know, this car has had at least six recalls up to this point, and we hope that Chevrolet understands that this is a manufacturing or engineering defect and will vonluntarily reimburse us for it.
