Ok I just bought an 89 blazer 4x4 for some trail running and the problem is when I take the key out the whole thing that the key goes in comes out with the key. I can put it back in and it starts up and everything. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix it.

Well it sounds like you may need new ign lock cylinder replaced or the pin that locks it into columm is gone.
