In the last couple of days I started the wheel changes on my LeMans, CanAms and Protos. Many a "Cat" has been "declawed" for this change over. But I think its a big improvement over the old RedLines that came with these cars. I do now have some spare RL's if anyone wants to trade something......Maybe another "Cat" with mags?????

You have turned them from "toys" (note the quotation marks) into models.

[QUOTE=Scale-Master]You have turned them from "toys" (note the quotation marks) into models.

My wife calls them "toys."

To that I've defined several terms.

"Collectables" Something left in the box never to breath fresh air in hopes of one day being worth more than the original purchase price.

"Toys" Something removed from the box and not only breaths fresh air but is played with and possibly abused. No consideration given to future worth.

"Working Models" Something removed from the box, maybe modified. But eventually used as a tool to create and further another work such as a rendering or photo. If this is with intent for claimed sales they and all tools are tax deductions.

"Display models" are not tools if they are for personal display, and are not tax deductions. The exception to this would be if the "display models" are for claimed resale. Then all tools as well as the models could be tax deductions. "Collectors" consider the latter two catagories to be devalued and a possible sin.

Though my wife still calls them "toys," they amazingly become "working models" to her at tax time. :screwy:

I was lucky enough to be able to train my wife early, she treats everything as a model, unless I downgrade it... - Mark

Ooooooooooo! "Train...." Hope your wife doesn't frequent this forum much. Though they don't mind using that verb in reference to us, they sure take offense when its used in reference to them..... :sorry: DEAR
