hello all I boutght a 97 jetta trek 2.0 5 spd. the guy I got it from said he drove it home replaced the tranny and now no start. I have checked everything . I have read several posts on the same subject and tried everything. I have replaced the ign. coil plugs, cap, rotor, ign. switch. I have 12 v on outer two wires on dist. and the center wire pulses when trying to start. I have juice to coil just no fire. I put a meter on the wire from coil to dist. had 12v with ign. on when turning over fell to 11v. the fuel pump does not run 2 sec. when ign. turned on but will run when I manually close fuel relay. I took ecu out and apart did not find any burn marks. I read on the net for a honda if you had 5v at the throttle position sensor which I do the ecu was working. the oil light comes on when you turn the ignition on but starts to flash when you turn the motor over does this have anything to do with no start? the radio is out of the car but was when he drove it home is there 2 wires on radio that should be together? I am baffeled by this problem. is there a crank sensor if so where and can I test it. is ther a better test for ecu? I saw another post with exact same problem but no solution for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not ready to scrap the car yet but it is getting close.
