2006 eclipse feminine?

hey. first off, i wanna clear things up.. i know there are already a couple 2006 eclipse threads here but i want to dedicate this one specifically to its styling, cuz yea, performance is an issue, but lets face it, styling is huge for this one.

and note, im not trying to offend any females here.

the last generation of the eclipse (2000-2005) lost a lot of fans because it just was not as aggressive as the 1gs or 2gs. A lot of people called it a girls car. again, not trying to be sexist, but most of its buyers are females. i dont wanna offend any men out tehre that are driving it either, looks aside, it still packs a pretty good punch under the hood.

the last generation was a lot less aggressive-looking than the 1-2g. what do you guys think about this new one? does it reclaim its attitude, or is the eclipse just turned 'cute' forever.

In my opinion, I think the styling re-invents itself..........as a "cute little car" with mean power. I think it looks good. Still not a girl car to me.

i never understood the whole 'girl car' thing. now the new style beetle is a girls car but i never though of the 3G as a girls car. i dont think the 4G looks like a girls car either

I agree. Besides i see alot more guys driving the 3g eclipse that i do girls.

great feedback, keep em coming. id also like to hear from non-eclipse fans although its hard being that this is an eclipse forum haha. well if u guys can get other opinions, that would be helpful too

trust me, there are alot of members on this site that will come here and bash the 3G when they dont have one. so im sure they will show up sooner or later.

They better not. But damn they will.........the 4g is NOT a FEMALESH TYPE CAR. I can't even think of a car that is only for females. Besides a pink car.

probably just because it makes their civic look like trash. so they make fun of it to make themselves feel manly again

for me:
-great style
-great engine power...its sohc v6 tho?
-nice interior, small but nice
-front looks like a 2005 Galant
-body looks kinda like an Audi TT
- overall rate: 8/10 :)

People will call the Eclipse a girls car if they don't like it. Let's face it, girls love to look good in a nice looking car...and what better than a sports car? I see just as many girls in a Mustang. Girls love sports cars and SUVs. So to any macho prick out there driving a Jeep, that's as much of a girls car as anything else...if not more.

The 4G is lookin good. I can't wait for the cosmetic updates. Mitsubishi always hits it right on the spot with those. Ex: 97-99 and 2002-2005 Eclipses. And the 99 GT :lol2: :worshippy

I was referring to the 3000GT, not the Eclipse model trim.

gotta love the 99 3000gt's...and i def love the new eclipses definitely not a "girls car" at all...id drive one of those anyday

Its funny, 9 out of 10 times I see a 3G and its a guy driving it (I'm a girl for those that don't know), but yet 9 out of 10 times I see a mustang and its a girl driving it. Probably 7 out of 10 times I see a honda and guess what, its a chick. Same as the Celicas, probably 6 or 7 out of 10 around here are girls driving the Celicas.

So I really don't know where people get saying that the 3G is a girls car. A friend of mine in Michigan though tells me that most of the time its a girl in an eclipse over there, so I guess it must be regional.

Either way, you won't ever catch me in a honda or mustang.

I don't think the 4G looks girly, but IMO it is Fugly.
