I recently hooked a trailer up to my truck(98 tacoma).I didn't have the tow package so i had to splice the brake, running and blinker lights on my truck too connect to the lights on the trailer. When i was done the drivers side rear blinker on my truck would work fine with the lights off but if I put the lights on the blinker and the running light would both blink back and forth. If I put the brakes on the blinker light dousn't blink, only the running light blinks and it blinks really fast. The passanger side works perfct.I took off the wires from the trailer and put everything back on the truck the way it was originaly but I still have the same problem.Anybody have any ideas?

I don't know what you used for splicing but you probably damaged the wiring when you spliced the trailer wires into your light circuits. It's a process of visual examination and some electrical troubleshooting to find the problem. The wiring splicers that you squeze to penetrate the insulation for contact can cause problems.

I believe you have to buy the harness/converter from the dealer for it to work correctly. However, the most common problem with those who splice into the wiring is fuses constantly blowing.
