Need your valuable input!

OK, so i got my 94 ZR2 runnin good, but i still want a silverado, ive been looking and there are a few i like. but they all have over a 100,000 miles
! ones a 99 and ones a 2000 and the 99 has like 105k and the 2000 gots 127k miles. Which is better? plus the 200 comes with a 5 year warranty. Also what are the major problems i should expect to get from buying a silverado with this many miles. Oh btw, we have nothing but chevy in our family! GO CHEVY!

One thing not to do is get a 4wd if you have no use for it. Your mileage is worse, your ride quality is a little worse, plus you have extra maintenance on the 4wd parts. Then you have to figure the vehicle (either used or new) will cost you more off the lot. There's not a whole lot of difference between the 99 and the 2000 year model. Based on the mileage you've given, the 99 model has been driven an average of 17,500 miles per year, and the 2000 has been driven an average of 25,400 miles per year. You can always buy an extended warranty if you want one, but I would go with the 99 at 17,500 miles per year over the 2000 with 25,400 miles per year any day of the week, if everything else is the same. That 2000 has had a hard life it sounds like. What engines are in these trucks?

I agree; I just bought a 2002 with 25k on it, and i didn't even have to look very hard.

ok, thanks for your input, im just looking right now, but i need the 4x4, but yeah my ZR2 only has 106k on it, its nice, but its a single cab, and i more people room, and towing capabilities. and i dont realyl care about mpg. as long as its about 12 in the city and 16 on the highway, thats about what i get now.

I'm not sure where people get the ride quality is worse on 4WD. I've riddin in both and pseronally, I think it just depends on the model you get!!! I have a Z71 and it rides like a cadilac...Not hard on bumps, floats almost like a couch, when i take an offramp I usually do about 60mph without tire screech!!! Ive riddin in some 2WD and very few ride like mine do and I dont really like the ones that dont. When some hit bumps theyre very stiff up front it knocks your teeth out, especially crossing the train tracks behind my neighborhood. Try just riding in few diff. models of each kind and you'll see what i mean. Good luck on your find.

Oh and as far as maintenance goes ( i'm not saying this is true for everyone so dont get me wrong) I have 102,000 miles on my Z71 and havent so much as changed my differential fluid!!!! And i do some pretty fun offroading at times!

Z71's have a upgraded suspension from a regular 4x4 and a 2wd. I would put my bank account on a brand new Z71 riding better than any brand new 2wd.

I'm glad. :grinyes: I was jokingly stating the fact that I did not purchase a 4wd HD and expect it to ride like a car. Although it rides a heck of a lot better than my '95 K2500 7,200 GVWR did, I did not fool myself for a moment into thinking that this vehicle would ride like anything other than a flat-out heavy duty truck. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the way this 9,200 GVWR vehicle rides, even with the bars cranked 8 turns, but a cushy 2wd half ton it's NOT. :grinno:
