I have a 92 accord automatic, while driving the car died and now the D4 light just blinks steady. When I tried to re-start it wouldn't turn over... I hope someone knows a way to help me

Does P light when in park, N light when in neutral? Does starter click when key is turned.? Need to get starter circuit working so you can you can see if timing belt is broken. How many miles since last timing belt change? A d4 light would not prevent the engine from turning over with the starter. However, the engine will not turn over unless a P or N light is lit.

yes the other lights work fine, the timimng belt was changed 5/17 so unless the mechanic did something wrong it shouldn't be an issue.

Turn-over. Because that means different things to people. What do you mean? Do you mean the starter won't engage and the engine won't rotate with the starter?

yeah it's like when you turn the key it's trying to start but won't catch

d4 light blinking steadily usually indicates the tcu if I'm not mistaken

I'd scan for codes and see what you get.

If you don't know how to scan for codes or need more info on the tcu, just PM me.

Thanks for your feedback, the mechanic found the problem to be th O2 sensor. It was replaced and everything works great now...

An 02 sensor won't prevent it from starting, I doubt you've solved anything.

I felt the same way, but it is running. I will get it checked out...

I too have a 92 Accord LX A/T with a blinking D4. My problem however is a little different. If I drive the car, turn it off and then start it back up in less that 15min or more, it cranks but won't start and flashes D4. If I let it sit for a while it's fine.
I pulled the codes but nobody will give me the list of definitions. I would like all of them if possible but if not I would be happy for now with the ones I am getting which are 7, 8, and 12. I also got a 4 one time time several weeks ago but not since. I clear the codes and get nothing again until the problem then I get the same three.
PLEASE, I am at the end of my rope here and need help. Dealers seem to be VERY tight lipped about the codes so I have no choice but to bring it in which I am not willing to do for something simple like a solenoid.
FYI, I have already replaced the TCU so unless someone is ABSOLUTELY sure that's it, I don't plan on forking that money out twice.

You can purchase a Haynes manual on electrical codes that covers just about every vehicle with a computer in it. Gives you all of the flash code definitions.

Usually about 20.00 dollars
