Alright just quick question about what I could be expecting from my 95 Gst. So far the ac compressor has kicked the bucket and the radiator has 1000 miles to go, anything else I should be expecting? I have 106000 miles...and small mods, Ive kept care of her every single day, haha. Also the clutch has gone(fixed) and the timing belt slipped(new head new belt new gaskets new intake man.) The car has a new alternator from about 2000 miles ago. What else could I expect to go next? Sorry I ask I just have a tight budget :frown: I dont want to have to part from a car like this :crying: Thanks for your help.

That is a totally open ended question, as I could include everything from CV boots to gauge lighting!
Each car is unique in the way it is driven, where it is driven, and how it is maintained. Even slight factory variances contribute to the life of individual parts. My friend's 96 GST is such an amazing POS, that even Kevin would give it an honorary POS.com membership. It has about 135K miles, is a daily driven pizza delivery car (yes, I know, the HORROR), and he is very lazy on oil changes and maintenence. No mods except a 3" catback. He's had his car since it had 35K miles on it, and apart from a T-belt and cat, he's never had to change a thing (some interior pieces such as door handle, window rattle, etc, are minor issues).
Hence, each car is pretty much different, I don't think you could generalize on potential problems too much, apart from anticipating a T-belt change at every 60K and a few other things when the time comes...
BTW, your t-blet slipped??? How the heck did that happen!? I didn't think t-belts could do that...

Well ya, I just am sayin because Ima be movin soon and there might not always be a "local shop" that can do some of the big projects for me. And about the timing belt, I was about to go out of town and the clutch went so I just dropped it off at the "local shop" and was like can you work on that while Im gone...well I call back 4 days later(Im still partyin in New orleans :lol2: ) and they say that when they were pulling the car in the garage the belt came off so.....???? I looked at the old head( I still have it) and most of the rockers are missing and 2 of the intake valves are pushed out so.....???

when i bought my 96 gsx last year i was lucky to get every single service record done on that car from the first oil change to the last one. within that 112,000 miles i sware to god they replaced the whole car twice. i counted 6 antana motors, and now it needs another. it just depends on the car.

I bought my car at 104k miles and had to replace clutch around 110k miles. Nothing wrong went with the car. only bad thing was some1 broke into the passanger door and broke window so taht was the most expensive part to replace. Right now i have around 114k miles and waiting for 117-118k mile to hit so i can do a 60k mile maintence job. Some people have bad luck with their cars, some dont.
