I won my class tonight. That's the 2nd win since I started driving, and the first this year. Also makes two weeks in a row that I've won money ($200 last week, $750 this week).
It came down to me and another Vega, and we split $1500 ($1000 for first, $500 for second) even so that gave us $750 a piece. I got a freebie becuase his car shook out of the lights. Its kinda funny becuase I won the race with a .807 reaction time. When I seen his bottom stage lights go out, then flicker back on, then go out again, I was getting ready to bring mine out of the stutter when my win light came on and my side of the tree started counting down, lol. So that's why I had such a bad light, but it didnt matter either way.
I done good the rest of the night as well. First round, I had a .512 and ran one number off my dial. Second round, I had a .520, and 4 numbers off my dial but I got out of the gas before the finish line. Third round I had a .534 light, and was dead on my dial with six (4.466 on 4.46). My opponent had a .532 light and ran 3.591 on a 3.58. I won that round by .003 seconds! Very close run! And then that put me down to 3 cars, and both the other two cars had already had a bye run so that left me next in line, and in the bye run, I had a .505 light and went 4.466 on 4.45.
And then the last round, I had the .807 light, and was 4.48 on 4.46 dial. Awesome night! And man was it HUMID tonight! Everybodies times were off about .04-.06 seconds tonight.
Cliff Notes:
-Got 1st place tonight

Just go to your local track and enter the street class. All you got to do is be consistant and you got just as good a chance at 14s as a car that runs 11s.
Guess who's buying the beer?
Yeah, you!
Good job, bro!
HAHA! Thanks man.

That's awesome man! Congrats to you too. I didnt get a trophy this time, but oh well! Would have been nice I guess to get one!
Me and you will have to start us a "Casper and Hyde Racing" (or Hyde and Casper Racing, lol) thread or something like that to post our race results, lol.

Thanks man. The most important part of bracket racing IMO is cutting a good light. If you can beat your opponent on the tree, then you have a really good chance to win because that gives you some wiggle room on the other end of the track. Also, when you do bracket race, dial your truck at what its running and not what you want it to run, lol. That may sound confusing, but A LOT of people do that! Never dial more then 2 numbers down (by 2 numbers I mean if you ran 15.25, then at the fastest, dial it 15.23) becuase you can always slow down but you can't speed up!
And actually, the most important thing to remember for bracket racing is to be CONSISTANT at what you do! If you just leave your truck in drive, and don't shift it like a manual, then do that everytime (in fact, I would do that everytime if I were you, that way it'll shift the exact same way every time). Try and stage the exact same way everytime (if you stage deep one time, then shallow the next, your ET will be off slightly becuase your roll out will change). Basically, do everything, no matter how small it may seem, as close to the same as you can and you'll do fine.

Thanks man! Its nice to get something back after you spend $70 or more every Saturday!
Congratulations.
