I am getting my dad's 2000 Buick Lesabre, and I didn't think it was worth working on until I saw that alot of people are putting performance parts into their Buick Regals. Is there anything that I can do to a LeSabre to make it as quick as some of these Regals? If so, what? I know the first step would probably be an K&N drop in filter, but what else? I don't want to spend too much time and money and have the car still be running like my grandma's (and no, she doesn't have a fast car ), so is it even worth it? TIA

LeSabre is a good car, very nice. Since you're probably just going to treat the car like crap and rape it, i'm not telling you any ideas i would have.

the regals that people modify are almost always GS's with the supercharged L67 engine. You do not have this engine. There are however many mods you can do. Lots of these mods are available from http://www.thrashercharged.com/store_htm/store.shtm

Why would I treat the car like crap? I like it, it is a nice car.

what he means, is you have a nice car, if you want to put performance parts into, you most likely will drive it hard, which thats definately not what the car was made for........but you have the 3.8 liter V6, you can find alot of parts for that...start with the K&N filter, intake, get some nice rims and tires for it, headers, and borla exhaust, that right there will give it a little pep

When I race ill be driving hard, but other than that i have no intention of being cruel to it..its all i got :P. Thanks for the list of stuff to do, does anyone have any more links?

Edit: Moste of the parts I find, headers for example, say that they are only for regals. Also the older mustangs (94-98 i think) also had a 3.8L v6. Will those parts work on my car? tia

GM 3.8= Day
Ford 3.8= Night

The headers from the regal should work however, because from 96-present, they didn't change the 3800 series 2. The series one however was a 231 CI(1995 and older), the series 2 was 232 CI. There could be a difference, so make sure whatever you get is for the series 2 engine, and that's all that should matter. You could also get some new rocker arms, cam, and if you wanna go deep into the swinging assembly, forged pistons...some injectors, chip...the list goes on...

drdisque posted that the regal has a L67 engine, so those would not work. Unless he was saying that the L67 was only in the GS? Anyways, do you know any other places where I can find this stuff? Ive been searching like crazy for parts, but it seems that everything coming up is just replacement stock parts or somthin else i dont need.

The L67 was only in the GS model. I dont see why the headers from an L67 wouldn't fit an L32 though. I used to have a site for performance series 2 parts, i'll see if i can find it again.

Cool, thanks. I'll keep lookin but if you can find it that would be awesome. Thanks for the help everyone, and if anyone has any other links or input please add your 2¢ :) . It would be fun to find out how fast i could get that lesabre!!

Edit: So, will these (the ones that say 3800 series II W-body) fit on my engine?

you have an L36

The L32 is the Series III Supercharged engine (weird, you'd think it would be something like L68 or L69 or L78)
