how to install a muffler?

can anyone tell me how to remove and install mufflers? Im interested in getting a nice new muffler, but i dont know how they are mounted, hooked up, etc. Can anyone explain this to me, or provide a link for help?

In most cases, the stock one will be cut off, and the aftermarket one will be welded on. I saw one that was clamped on; and if you looked under the car. It was sealed with a welder or maybe even cheaply soldered.
Take measurements to see how much you want cut off. Remember, cutting off too little is always better than cutting off too much.

if you dont have a welder, just take the muffler and your car to the exhaust shop.

They generally rip you off and try to sell you one of theirs/claim there is a problem. Try to have a friend/family member do it.

That's when you tell them to either do it with yours or you'll take it to another shop. Simple as that, don't let them screw you. If you need to, stop by different shops and get quotes before anyone does anything. But I agree, if you know someone who can wekd it for you then go that route.
