converter pipe for j30t

i posted this on a previous thread. but i took my j30t to minieke (of all places) just to see were the exhaust leak was coming from and it was both my converter pipes. they want $800 to fix it, the pipes are $295 a piece. i want to know if anyone has had the same problem. and if there is a less exspensive solution?
