You really don't need to go to the added expense and labor to change from DexCool to the green antifreeze. One of the original problems with the DexCool was the claim by GM that it lasts 5 years or 150,000 miles. That was found to be incorrect as it broke down or became contaminated. The newest recommendation is to flush and fill your DexCool every 2 years or 30,000. It also is a good thing to replace your radiator cap at this time as some have been found to wear out and leak air into the cooling system, which then contaminates the coolant.

But as I did more research on it, I realized that there's more to it. The molecular structure of DexCool allows superior protection abilities compared to the green stuff BUT ONLY WHEN IT HAS COVERAGE over the parts it should be protecting, while the green stuff has a structure that allows for it to protect even when it is not in direct contact with said parts. Air and DexCool do not get along, an being that the overflow tank is vented to the atmosphere, it is constantly introduced to air no matte what level the tank is kept at, allowing it to get low only accelerates the process. This, coupled with the fact that GM initially claimed a life of 5 years/150,000 miles as opposed to the 2 years/30,000 miles they now say, makes me uneasy about this product and the R&D that actually went into it.
