Hooking up a Tachometer

I just got a 2001 Tacoma and hate the fact there is no tach. I'm wondering who has hooked them up and if you can tell me where to run the wire for the tach sensor. I've already figured where to mount it and where to run my interior light, positive red, and negetive black wires. Please help. No one else can seem to tell me where to run it to.
Thanks
Tyler

You can either tap into the wire behind the gauge cluster or at ecm plug in. I tapped into the harness at the gauge cluster. Mine was for a 95 2.7. Try going to customtacos.com then to tech articles, interior audio tech, and then to mini tach install. Its for a 98 but it will give you an idea where to start. I believe the wire colors for the tach change from certain years. Try this site fsm.afraid.org Its a site that has the 2003 toyota shop manuals vol 1,2, and the wiring diagram volume.
Have fun.
