door locks and window motors

the 2000 intrepid back door locks make a real loud noise and will go down but not up (sounds like a motor). Aren't they just a solenoid?
Passenger window quit working (elec.) how hard is that to change?

I just bought a 97 intrepid with the drivers side rear power door lock grinds sometime when locking. I removed the power lock assembly and it is a sealed unit. DO NOT remove the 2 screws to see whats inside! It was pure hell to get it back together. Find a used one or buy a new one, costs about $200.00 cdn. $150.00 usd.
