You're painting your subaru orange could be the first problem:)
Just kidding, it'll probly look dope, wouldn't mind seeing some subarus done in other colors than the typical blue, black or silver. Try spraying on a few mist coats first, followed by a heavier coat later to get opaque coverage. You really should check out Guiddy's info on painting. I've only used Tamiya cans to paint the body and by following guiddy's instructions i've been pretty impressed. I find that i have enough paint in those cans to get at least two bodies painted. So yeah, try usin' a little less paint between coats. Hope it turns out alright.

Yes, itīll need 1 or 2 layers of paint. But that cannot be normal nevertheless that I need 1 or 2 spray cans for one kit! Thatīs fīn expensive.

well was the body clean before you started spraying it? what i mean is did you prep it well before you applied your first coat? eg. wash in warm water, let it stand for a couple of hours, etc. The reason i'm asking is cause once i sprayed a model that was sitting around the house for years, and i didn't prep it, and i had the same problem, the paint didn't want to "stick". Oh and another thing, is the orange your using lighter than the color of the body? Let me know, cause nomally i can spray 2-3 cars with one can of TS paint.

Well, I took the body out of the box and primmed it. Then I applied the paint (2 coats). The paint sticked well, I think. I sanded the body a little bit and washed it in warm water with soap.

OK. well generally a can of tamiya TS paint should last you 2-4 fully covered car bodies. Post some pics, then maybe we can get a better idea of what exacly you're doing.

I donīt have a digital camera. Could the coats be too thick?

Well i can't help you anymore, cause i can't think of any other reason why you're using all that paint. I picture would really help if you want a definet answer. ;)

Just like any other "weak" colors, such as yellow or red, orange is translucent, so it requires base color after primer. What color of primer did you use? It it was gray, I think it's very hard for orange to seal it sufficiently. If it was white, followed by yellow or tan, I don't think you needed to use that much of a paint.

I used "Super Surfacer Primer L White" (Tamiya).

Your hobby store might have gotten a bad batch. If you remember how heavy it felt, go back and compare to other cans or go to another store.

OK, thanks to everybody who posted here. I ordered another spray can of TS-12 orange, maybe this will be better.
BTW: The Subaru Impreza WRX STi looks great with the body painted in TS-12 Orange and the golden rims.
