EGR TPS controls overdrive

The following explains why an Aurora will shut off your overdrive ONLY.

A few months ago I started hearing my Idle Control Motor click when I shut off my car. Immeadiately I ripped open the hood and took out my toolset and went to work. I had a spare tps so I switched it out and cleaned out my egr valve. I also sprayed everythng down with throttle body cleaner and toothbrush cleaned the throttle body. I think I did a little more playing around that I cant even remember.

Well, after all of this the car ran better than ever. The idle was rock solid. The performance difference was great..... until... The next day on the way to work the car wasn't running right. The RPMS were way high and yet the car loved it. The fuel economy was dropping fast as hell too. After I got home I switched out EGR valve with a new one from pepboys. There was no difference. I went home and switched ou the TPS that i hd changed and still no difference.

So now what??? Damn tranny, god damned starter, what the heck now, another transmission??? Last resort I broke out my service manuals and checked. After hours of tracing the path of electrical signals, I found it. The TPS (throttle position sensor) throws a code to the PCM when it fails. This code tells the computer to deactivate the EGR system. The EGR valve then shuts down the overdrive shifting patern and runs the car rich.

A long time ago the engine light had burned out, so when the car throws codes I cant tell. Next i looked over what I had done. LOOKY LOOKY I found a cookie!!!!!!! I had forgoten to plug in my original TPS when I was "rebuilding" the throttle body and it was shutting down the EGR. Thats why the engine was exhibiting the same symptoms as a blown EGR.
