87 Aries 2.2L. Last night I was backing up out of my driveway. I got out of the driveway and put it in drive -- then the engine just died. I did a error code test and got 27 & 55. 27 says that the injector output isnt responding properly to the controll. After ousing the car back into the driveway I disconnected the battery & checked for loose wires. Nothing was loose/ broken. Figured that somehow the computer got a bad signal so I left it disconected overnight. This morning I took out the fuel injector and checked everything there - no probems. Wires to the computers were plugged firmly in.
After putting everything back together I put the battery back in and tried starting again. code 27 poped back up again. When cranking it sounds like I'm not getting any gas to the engine, so I poured some gas into the filter/ injector area. This helped it start, but then it just died again. I'm at a loss for ideas - everything electrically seems OK same for vacume hoses. But something is obviously wrong if I cant get the engine to start.
Just out of curriosity does anybody know if the Aries has some sort of gas-cut off switch somewhere ? I had a Mercruy topaz that had something like this in the trunk (so if you were stuck in the trunk you could make the engine run out of gas).
Anybody have any ideas?

OK, last post for me tonight. The engine is definately getting fuel (I can see it spraying up into the filter area) but there is no spark / ignition. Could it be that I bought a bad injector ? What is actually responsible for the fuel igniting after it is sprayed into the air filter housing? Any clues anybody ? ? ?

these guys know eveything..
if ur not gettin spark.. check at the coil... take the coil wire off and hover it over the contact areas there should be a nice blue spark,, and should attempt to start the engine... if not the coil or ignition control module (if it has one?) is fubar'd. if there is a spark then the distributer is fubar'd and then check for spark at one of the plug wires. if you still get spark then I dunno what to tell ya... could be a bad sensor or anything :/
i havent had this problem with my K yet :)
GL
EDIT...
27 Injector circuit isn't switching when it's told to (TBI)
OR (MPI) injector circuit #1 not switching right
OR (turbo) injector circuit #2 not switching right
OR (all 1990-) injector output driver not responding
- check computer, connections
aahh yess, try replacing the fuel pump relay b4 anything...
i seen guys replace pumps and come to find out the relay had too much resistance so it wasn't switching on at the right time or something...
id say thats your best bet
