They can import and legalize it but they haven't been doing a very good job. That is why 90% of the people who have dealt with motorex are not happy customers. I have read some of their stories and if I was them I would say the same things also. All thoes guys should take action in a form of lawsuit against motorex and get their cars as promised. For that much money it should come with fast and reliable service, but...

correct me if i'm wrong

"You'll need to speak with a registered importer (RI) and make sure they are on the federal list of recognized RI's. Then you'll need to check if your car of choice is on the NHTSA list. These cars can be modified to bring into the States. You'll notice the Nissan GT-S and GT-R right-hand drive Skylines are on the list. If it's on the list, then it's a matter of importing the car and performing the modifications needed to meet DOT and EPA requirements"

so find a RI correct?

"The car will need to be brought to an independent commercial importer, or ICI, and modified in order to pass the Federal Test Procedure, or FTP. The FTP is an approximately 11-mile dyno run that begins with a cold startup and is designed to simulate a whole assortment of driving loads and conditions. It measures emissions the whole way through"

bring it to an ICI and everything should be good right?

partially.....skylines cannot be brought through ICI's though. they need to be brought in by REGISTERED importers. which are basically the same thing but not...thats another matter. motorex was the only place able to legalize skylines. any RI can bring the car in, but the car must go through motorex BEFORE it hits public roads.

the big issue (to my understanding) is not that you need an RI, its an RI that knows how to modify the car to meet the requirements. And from my research motorex is the only RI (or anybody for that matter) that knows what modifications need to be done to a skyline in order for it to meet the NHTSA standards.

like i said though, this is my understanding, not gospel
