Polycarbonate helmets

Sorry if this is a repost, but.........what do you think of the polycarb (plastic) helmets?

Yes, I do know that if you have a $99 head then a $99 poly helmet is okay. But they do all meet or exceed the DOT standards, (but not Snell, usually)
So, are they much less effective than a more expensive Snell fiberglass helmet?

Does anyone here use a poly helmet? I would appreciate your input. My Snell Nava helmet is getting pretty disgusting, and since I don't ride much at all,(and when I do, I ride like a wuss) so I have been tempted to cheap out and go poly.

I have THIS (http://www.hjchelmets.com/ac11_zeek.htm) helmet. Now, don't freak out. The actual price you will pay for this helmet from any other site or shop is MUCH less than the MSRP of $250. Jeep (0|||||||0) has the same helmet (different paint, but same helmet) and we both LOVE it! When I need to get another helmet, I will absolutely go back to the HJC AC-11. I can't sing it's praises loudly enough. The price is right, and it is VERY comfortable for me. Just remember that you need to buy a helmet that fits YOU, not me. ;)

Fiberglass/Kevlar, there really is no point in pinching pennies here, most racers use fiberglass/kevlar composite, my head isn't worth less than theirs. :D

Having said all this, I paid about $210.00 with shipping and everything for my top of the line Suomy Spec-1R. Usually they're worth $399-599.00 in dealers. Prices have dropped again if you check ebay.
