Crowds gathered to ogle the car and ask questions, the media took notice, and SEMA bestowed the car with their "Best Performance Car" award.
The show, which took place May 20-22, proved to be a great stage for the AF Skyline, as attention built throughout the run of the show. Company representatives got a great introduction from Super Street editor, John Naderi on Saturday during the feature car presentation. The car's origin, its strong history in Japanese endurance racing, and AF's Speed World Challenge race plans for 2006 were discussed.
"SEMA's IAS was a great platform to gain exposure for our Skyline and our plans for the upcoming race season," said Igor Sushko, company founder and president. "We're honored to accept the 'Best Performance Car' award, and we can't wait to show the world what this car can do on the track."
Next up, the car will appear at XM Satellite Radio's Hot Import Nights in Chicago's McCormick Place on June 11th as the feature car of the show. The car belongs to Automotive Network, the parent company of AutomotiveForums.com.

The white guy would be Igor. Just because he can speak Japanese doesnt make him a little Asian fellow.

Awesomeness... Sheer Awesomeness... I want to own a Skyline someday... Right now, I'm happy to own its extremely distant cousin, an 87 pulsar nx se. I enjoy imagining that its has an inline six, twin turbos, ATESSA all-wheel-drive, and stylish curves. well, i think the pulsar does have stylish curves, but i'll still have to work on everything else.....

I think that most people are a little star struck by the GT-R anyway. Can a GT-R not get best of show? Not that I don't like the car or it being there, I am just being objective about it. Even if you put a Ferrari next to it, it could still go home a winner.
