tonights races, crashes, and deaths

tonight started out pretty good. it was a warm day, about 6pm still light out, and i'm cruising down the beach strip and i see all sorts of commotion. a white mustang was racing someone i think, or just being an ass and cut off a red jeep with 3 passengers in it. the jeep swerved left and hit the curb and crossed the median going fairly fast and flipped twice landing in oncoming traffic and ejecting eveyone in it. blood everywhere, 3 bodies in the road and one confirmed dead. i drove towards chick's restaurant and met up with some girls i used to hang out with a few years ago and so we talked for a bit and i gave them a ride to dunkin donuts, and then we wanted to see what happened but now BOTH sides of the road was closed so we couldn't get through to see anything. i dropped them off at chick's and drove to jimmy's restaurant. there, i met up with kyle (95 del sol) albert, sean and his girl (97 civic) nick (93 civic lx) and justin. we parked and walked over to the scene. by now it was just cleanup. the bodies were gone and now cops were just marking the road and shit.
after that we went to chicks and met up with some other people. there was like 15 people huddles around my other friends silver civic hatch with gsr swap beggin for a race. everyone wanted me to race but i said no because his car is VERY fast. someone said they'd race so we drove off. i followed the hybrid hatch and we got on I95 north. exit 46 we get off at long wharf in new haven and pull into a parking lot. very little traffic and its a 3 lane road. 2 lanes going north and 1 lane going south. so we all park and about 10 cars total are there. they ran a few races with the del sol civic lx and gsr hatch. they all really wanted me to race. so after a while i was convinced. i raced a stock red prelude. we line up, and there no flagger so we agree to go when the lgith ahead turns green. the light goes green and i'm bout to take off and a fuckin ford festiva pulls into my lane from the highway. so i didn't bother going much faster. we turned around and went again. we line up. this time the light is green. so we agree to go on red. the light turns yellow and we both take off because there was another car about to get off the exit. (really minimal traffic. like 1 or 2 cars every 10 minutes) so we take off. i get a horrible start. completely bogged. my first race with 17's and didnt rev good enough. almost stalled on the line. but once my car regained life i make up a lot of ground. we finish the race with my bumper at her right rear fender. i was surprised. 2.2 dohc vtec lude! but stock. more races go, more people come. hybrids start coming in, familys in minivans come and watch the fun. a jdm b16 hatch ran the gsr hatch and lost. the jdm hatch lost to my friend john dunn's 12.4 second h22 hatch. the h22 hatch lost to a 10 second 468 camero. lot of crazy races.
in between all that, some guy challenged me in a 95 eclipse. intake and exhaust. we line up. still no flagger (flagger only came later on when no one liked not knowing when to race.) he said go so i go. little more wheel spin then i'd like, but not a horrible launch. i took him from the line, he gained a little when i shifted 2nd, but 2nd and 3rd tore him up. one win for me.
then later a red dx coupe challenged me, pretty nice looking. intake exhaust. we line up, we have a flagger this time. he drops his hat. i got a TERRIBLE start. spund tires through all of 1st and he got me off the line. once i regained traction i took off but coudlnt catch him. i only was able to make up a few car lenghts and he embarassed me by about half a car.
a state trooper passed as an si and gsr lined up. they didn't end up racing beacuse the state trooper saw them turn around and line up. so they drove off normal and pulled back in. the trooper left and no one raced for a little while. a few more raced went on, and we see a blue/red light and about 15 yellow lights. we all thought it was a cop and like 100 tow trucks. but it was just construction. we look away and see like 4 new haven cops. its time to leave so everyone takes off. i follow the red prelude. as i follow i notice a cop not to far behind just as i was taking off pretty fast. i got scared and slowed down real fast in fear of just almost challenging a cop. he blew passed me because a newer black jetta was going faster. thank god. so i follow the red lude into a mobil station and i get some juice and we wait because the kid didnt have his licence. it's like 12 now and after like 15-20 minutes i leave and go to dunkin donuts back in west haven. a few people are there that were at the races. we then all go to chicks paking lot.
everone was fooling around and kicking bottles. jordan (gsr hybrid hatch) found a soda tray and this ither kid in a blue bronco pulled him on it. going pretty fast too! very scarey. at about 1:45 a cop drives by and then slows down, comes in, and says its time to leave. we leave without trouble and i go home. yawn... it was a long night.

This boggles my mind that you saw the remains of a bad traffic accident yet you still race anyways, please explain yourself.

well... our races were different. we had 2 lanes to ourselves. 1 lane for the other direction and two for our direction. and the road was basically closed. we didn't race in any traffic, and didn't act like assholes. the crash that happened was in the middle of traffic, with weaving in and out of traffic, and involved someone driving like an ass/ mustang racing a 3000gt and the jeep getting cut off.
if what we were doing was unsafe to innocent motorists, we would definitly stop. no one's out to hurt nobody. and the nearest track is like, in jersey i think.

i understand ou guys wern't out to hurt anyone just look at the festiva thet just stpped the race no point in getting hurt while having fun

yea... see if we were assholes, we would have ran that race, cut off the festiva, or went into oncoming traffic to pass it. but we stopped the race... drove to the end, turned around, and lined up again.
