WooHoo my first post on Af. Been visiting for ages but only just signed up. AF rules.
Now I am new to this whole scratchbuild thing but I thought I would give it a go. About a week ago I bought a Hot Works Mazda RX7. I got it home and imediately started to strip it and sand it back for a new paiknt job. When I lifted the bonnet, I was amazed at the excuse for the "engine" that they gave this model. So i have stripped that out and have started to scratch the new turbo and intercooler piping. I think that is the only thing I want to do to the engine bay unless someone will give me plans and stuff on how to scratch the whole thing. Any help on what materials and stuff to use would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
WideBody.
P.S. I know this thread is useless without pics, but the lack of a digital camera is to blame for that. Will get pics as soon as I can.

Wow, sounds like it's gonna be real sweet, what scale? Because I can give ideas if you need any.
Good Luck.

I'd buy a plastic model and steal all of the components

Thanx for your guys support.
Sorry I stuck it in the wrong forum.
It is a 1/24 scale di-cast. It has adjustable camber and ride height, all you do is adjust screws from the bottom of the chasis.
I have hit a bit of a snag. I have made the turbo and the manifold but when i tried to dummy fit them into the engine bay I found that the suspension and camber adjusting setup is in the way and will not allow the bonnet to close when i sit the turbo in high enough to clear them. I am thinking of just making a twin turbo setup. But I will still have to use the slightly 2D engine that it came with, as none of the bits that I build will fit in if I do make them. I am kinda tempted to go all out and build a whole new chasis for ir so i can use the body. This is cause I am already most of the way through doing the body kit.
C&C welcome.
I will ty and get pics as soon as. (if i can at all that is)
Cheers.

When I run into snags like that I just scratchbuild a suspension setup to fit the motor, so..whatever floats your boat.

Ok guys. I have at this very moment finished the twin turbo set-up so that it clears the suspension and still lets the bonnet/hood close. After it dries I will try to build some rotor housings, because at the moment there is a big space beside the turbos. If anyone knows of a way to build a wastegate could they put a how-to up or even just link me to one if there has already been a how-to done on it. The body will be the last thing I do so I need to go down to my LHS and get the paints i want for the interior now. Which is going to be mainly white, but with chrome and pink/purple trim. The exterior paint will be custom mixed unless I can find the right mettalic pink/purple at my LHS.
C&C welcome.
Will try and get pics asap.

Nah don't want pimp styles. I just want to make a different rx7. Cause most of them are red with black and/or grey interiors. I think it will look sick when im finished.
