mk1 golf cabrio cutting out

i have a mk1 golf cabrio(1991auto)(only had the car a month), i was driving it in the rain the other day and any time i turn a right hand corner the car is cutting out (doesn't cut out for left hand corners), i have checked the fuel to see if there was any traces of water, but none were found, i also changed the carb gasket as i heard they they were prone to letting air in, the car does start and idle better after changing the gasket but taking it on a test run it was still cutting out on a right hand turn.

any solutions to solving this problem would be appreciated

Does this only happen when its raining or at all times.

If only when raining it could be electronics getting wet if at all times have you checked the float level of the carb?

That was the first time i had driven the car when the roads were saturated, the car was driving perfectly up until then, i'll try the electrics to see if they are free of dampness, then i'll check the float in the carb, cheers
