I am looking into purchasing a 2000 Honda Civic SI (SIR here in Canada -with 160-horsepower 1.6-liter) and was wondering how reliable this car is if purchased with approximately 75,000 kms on it? I know it's a a sporty car so I am expecting that the owner drove it hard. Has anyone experienced problems after buying a used SI? i have never owned a Japanese car. Are these models built in Japan? How are these cars usually priced? Please help! Thanks.

Probably made in Canada lol.
The car is great, and I'm sure it was driven hard.
Deffinitly get a carfax on it.
Was he the first owner?
Are there alot of mods to the car?
Is this a kid?
Why is he selling it?
did he keep up on maintenace.
Treat this like any used car do as much investigation as you can...

Should be priced around 11 - 14,000 Canadian dollars. Ive owned that car for 2 years now and have driven it extremely hard, dont worry about engine or transmission problems, they are bulletproof. Worry about the CD player, electric windows, and some other minor details.
The only thing that has failed for me apart from the stereo and windows is the ingnition, dont know why but its a very reliable car even when driven hard.

carfax, compression test, inspection, and a test drive should make your decision easier.

Thanks for the help guys. If I buy one I don't want any mods. I want to do my kind of mods to it. If it has a lip kit or different wheels then I won't be too concerned.
