pistion rings on my eclipse

Ok, I have a 92 eclipse base model. I got it when I turned 16 cause it had a dead cylinder. I replaced the ECU and it ran like new. However I just got it as a screw around car and didnt plan to have it to long so I did what every 16 year old does. I raced it. Now im a damn good driver for 3 years I havent gottens stopped once or ever been in a accadent. About a month after I got it I raced my friends cougar and lost the first round. So in the second I actually raced it, I was shifting at red line up to 3rd gear. Afterwards I got a valve tap but it wasent much just a lite tap every once in a while. Well my eclipse has lasted me a long time and now I really love it. Its burning oil now just cause its old I think. It burns off a lot sometimes but none at others. Can someone tell me how hard it is to replace the pistion rings on this car. Its got a 1.8 motor in it. I have replaced the head gasket on it before so thats how far I have had it torn down. Thanks for any help I can get. If I do this I will also prolly replace the head or the valves to lose the tap. FYI- I won the second run ;) Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Dont waste your time man... The 1.8l is worthless. If you want to do something, build up a 2.0 turbo motor while you are still driving the car then when the time comes for that motor to blow, put the 2.0 in it. You'd need a new wiring harness and ECU but those are easy to find for 1g's. If you really love the 1.8, someone needs to give you a ride with a turbo car then you will never say you love the 1.8 again!

is It hard to swap out the motors. I know a junkyard less than a mile from here with a 2.0 for 200 bucks its got 80000 on it. I am scared that I will have to like replace everything to get it to fit and work right.
