installing carpet in 2002

Looks like I have lost the battle with GM over my defective carpet, they just won't budge. It would have been nice if they would have told me in the beginning that once the Area Service Manager makes a decision that his decision is final, oh well guess this will be my last GM product.
Since the dealer cost on replacing the carpet is almost $700 I thought I would do it myself and replace it with aftermarket carpet since GM's carpet must only be good for 2 years.
Could anyone tell me how difficult it would be to change out the front carpet in my 2002 suburban? Any special precautions I need to take due to airbag sensors and such?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I got a question,What happen to the carpet ? Because to be your last GM product over carpet is kinda weird.Because most people would say their last GM product would because of the piston slap.

The problem was that they would not honor the warranty. The carpet has a "worn" spot that I noticed when the vehicle was a little over 2 years old and had around 20K miles on it. The "worn" spot is in an area that is not in contact with the feet while driving, so there is no way it could be a result of normal wear and tear. I have been trying to get this resolved for about 4 months now. If GM is not willing to honor their warranty on a $700 repair (cost to GM would actually be a lot less), I don't trust that they would honor the warranty on anything else.

area service manager is shit call gm corporate and get ahold of your areas , (they used to call them zones but they call them something else now,) manager. the dealer does not have the last say in anything, but just out of curiousity just exactly where is the hole? if its not in a wear spot why replace the whole rug? go to a yard, used to be called junk yards. find something with the same color rug, cut out a pease about twice the size of the whole and got to a rug installer in your area, house rugs, they can cut that peace and make it so you will never know it. just a siggestion if calling corporate does you no good.

Been through GM Customer Assitance Center & BBB Auto line and the answer I keep getting is "we are standing by the decision made by the area service manager". I might give the dealer one last shot since he stands to lose the most from the deal because if GM or the dealer aren't willing to budge then I will not take another vehicle to them for servicing and/or repair.
I hope Ford gets a clue and starts making an Expedition XL (Excursions are just a bit too ugly), I would certainly give one a try the next time I need a new vehicle, especially if GM gives suburbans the same crappy look they have given their pickups.
