What are some of the downright have-to-do-upgrades-or-your-car-
will-blow up in order to maintain and make the rx7 rotary sustainable? I dont want to know what makes it faster, i want to know what stock parts you NEED to replace in order to keep it from breaking down. I dont want "rebuilds" or things like that. Be specific, if you boys know so much
Ill start it off...replacing vacuum hoses, putting in a down pipe, and an air separation tank (???) I hope this is an absolute haha
Lets see what you got!

um... a rebuild kit from atkins? it's all there i guess. as far as reliability, i'd say get an aluminum radiator, electric fan, and good thermostat. lets see... 3mm apex seals are a good reliability mod, do regular oil changes every 2000-2500 miles... um.... drive it hard once a week or so to open up 5th and 6th ports, as well as to clean out the engine. exhaust isn't really going to make it more or less reliable in my opinion... i guess run premix if you're up to it, and i can't really think of much else

i think he has a 93? so there are no 5th/6th ports (well no turbo rotaries have more than 4 ports)
i would recomend the radiator, it reduces temps alot, also add redline water wetter.
e-fan, you MUST wire it properly, you can seriously fuck up you motor if you dont
thermostat, get a mazda original (even if the dealer buttfucks you on the price, its worth a good running engine).
3mm seals, i disagree on. i wouldnt use them unless you intend to run high boost levels. they wear the housing prematurely vs the 2mm seals, your choice.
i would also add a upgraded intercooler and downpipe (reduced temps alot also).
you should run it to redline at least once every time you drive it (actually recommended in owners manual, keeps from carbon building up on the rotors).
keep in mind i am in no way a rotary expert, you follow your own guidelines.

Nice choices.
I have so far bought for this 1993 rx an HKS downpipe, and HKS turbo catback exhaust, Veilside D1GT bodykit, silicone vacuum set, radiators,. What size intercooler should i throw in it?
I was pondering on a rebuild kit, Do i have to send my engine out to them? or do they send me a package with the seals and the other parts? I havent looked into that much, I think i should.

you can do either, theres one where they send you the kit or you have have it rebuilt by somebody. if you dont have another engine i would recomend having somebody do it for you.
lots of people use the Trust (greddy) front mount, i like v-mounts personally). also look at getting standalone engine management (apexi powerFC, haltech, microtech, etc).

I got a quote on a rebuild today, at a place in picering, ontario. It was called Mazdees performance. He was asking $5500 for a rebuild! Is that overpriced?

I think that's about right. There's a place here in austin that quoted me like 4500 for a series IV N/A.... i thought that was a bit overpriced though, i'd rather do the work myself.
