i have the hoses from the heater core hooked up to it, they are not the problem- does it matter how u hook up the hoses on the other side of the heater control valve- not the hoses from the heater core, but the other ones- i think 1 goes to the thermostat and the other 1 goes to the water pump- i don't think it matters, i just want to be sure- thanks

Hey,

Hey, I just posted this and wonder if you know anything:

The 98 Ranger I bought always has some heat coming in. A quick diagnosis is that the heater core door is left open. I have no idea if the AC works because it's always blowing hot air.

What can I do to check this out?

Is it true they need to take the dash out to see what the problem is?

I had an estimate at $1050.00 and it will continue to be hot in the truck if that's the case!

Please let me know if you know anything about this model/problem?

Thanks,
Dan

u might have a leak in the vacuum hose that goes to the heater control valve- i did and it had the same problem- the end of the hose was barely on- get u a mighty vac and troubleshoot
