Mine was at 16.5 for the longest time, all city driving. Then about 2 months ago we took a little trip that required HW driving for about 40 miles and it jumped to 17.3. Now its on 17.8 all city.

I'm just waiting for the 2 or 3 guys out here that are getting 10 and 11. Then my Wife will stop calling my car the gas hog. I just call it the money pit. I throw my pay check at it last week, and it wanted a tip.

Don't hold your breath Jim. Even if someone was getting below 15 mpg, I don't think that they would admit it. I get approx. 18.5 in city and 24 highway in the GTP but that was before the pulley swap out.

Question for you: Have you ever seen or test driven the new GXP? Wasn't it scheduled for release this fall? Decided to check out the Street Racer forum and a few of the kids claim they've test driven a new GXP. The local Pontiac dealers have plenty GTPs in stock. Just wondering.

Everything I have read tonight says it goes into production first of this year. No dealer ship date. A couple of months ago they said dealer ship date was Aug. of this year. For around $35,000.00 it doesn't show me too much. If the GTO wasn't so ugly, I'd have one.
But you know those kids are faster then us. If got there before the cars.

Thanks to BigL/GM/Pontiac/Clubgp's Mike N. I was able to drive them out at Bondurant for a day. Lots of fun. They have been out since April, pops.

Thanks Jim, thats what I thought. I decided to give them a taste of their own medicine in the Street Racer forum. I posted one of Big-L's (now virtual) posts concerning that bogus 2007 Buick Regal Grand National GNX thing floating around all the forums. One kid was sharp and caught it and realized it was a prank. I believe that it originated with one of the West Coast GP forums. The pics of the GNX is a photochop.....lol. :lol2:

while I was testing the GXPs at Bondurant at the end of April(THANKS TO BIG-L) the GXP guys were claiming their GM drivers could get 5.7s 0-60s which should equate to 13s 1/4 mile runs stock.

Big-L is one of the few people on this site, or any other GP site that I listen to. Larry has it together.
Out of the rest, I would say 9 to ten others.

Thats nice Jeff. Most of us haven't had the oportunity to do so. The closest '05 GXP to me is Dallas and its a program car (dealer demo or test drive unit). According to Car & Driver, quite a few were to be released in the spring, we just didn't know exactly when. However, GM has cut off '05 production and the dealers will not even take any more orders at least in my neck of the woods. According to the local Pontiac dealer they are anticipating arrival of the '06 GXP sometime in the fall.

Again life is not about how fast you car is, the 1/4 time or 0 - 60 times. If I wanted all of that I would not be wasting my time or hard earned money on a GXP and go for the Corvette Z06 instead. Just my 2 cents. :2cents:

Sorry to stop talking about the GXP, but back to gas mileage, I will admitt that the last time I checked I was getting about 12.5 miles per gallon, all stop and go BS driving.

But, it was driven with a little bit of push...not driven like an "old man," So I am guessing that because of the quick excellerations, and tesing the 0-60 times down the block will make the gas millage suck

I have been driving like an old man. But got it off 14 MPG. I still liked it better at 14. More then fun then 17.

I'll try to stick to the topic but IMO here's who or what gets the worse gas mileage. 6/10ths of a mile to the gallon. BTW - It is a motor vehicle, although not a Grand Prix but I know of a Grand Prix that got run over by one on post.

Check it out (fuel capacity and consumption specs):

Bob,
We are trying to keep this to things you can drive on the roads without going to jail.
You'd look like that guy on Cops. The one driving over all the parked cars.

I have a 2000 GT completely stock. I get 22+ in the city and 29-30 on the highway! If I go over 70 it drops to about 25. Once with a tail wind it was slightly over 31!!

I have a 99 GT stock except for U Bend Delete, and mine hovers around 16. I guess after seeing others lower that makes me feel a little better, but I still think 16 is crap. I used to get 18-23 a year ago driving the same way. Even after taking a 2 hour long trip all highway cruising at 65 it only increased by .2 MPG. Being as I got low 20s when I got the car a year ago I figure something mechanical is wrong. Any thoughts?
