I own a '92 VR4, and use it every day for work and play. I have no visions of seeing any type of track with this car, i am just not that hardcore. That said... This car needs lowering, and the front struts, and possible rear shocks are done for. The setup i was going to go with was a Bilstein/Intrax combo. Then i read on 3si that Bilstein requires mods to the car and isn't a true fit.

So, i will say i have no intentions of spending the money to get the Flex system. The Bilstein/Intrax would have been a total of under 600, and i would like to keep it around that figure. I can get a good deal on the springs so i would like to stay Intrax, but as far as shocks/struts, i have read that i can go with the stock ECS ? is that true? A dealership told me that was not going to work.. but.. maybe?

Basically my question is what kind of Struts/Shocks should i be getting? I want some great handling and ride qual is a little important too i guess.. but it can be sacrificed. Please Help!!!!

I would post on 3si but i have already tried to make a membership, sent in 10 bucks, only to find get denied login every time.. and then get ignored by the webmaster or whoever runs that...

what kind of e-mail address do you have? Free e-mail accounts such as hotmail and yahoo will keep you from being able to sign up to 3SI.

I do have Hotmail, i guess i should have payed attention to the terms more carefully...

anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on the suspension? Would Intrax/Bilstein be a good combo? I have read that i would need to also buy rear control arms (or something related) due to a large drop.

OK, well I honestly don't know a single thing about bilstein, so I can't help you in that department. However I'd check out www.3sxperformance.com Under their vertical suspension section...for some good options that will work with our cars...the only issue I know of, is some spring/shock combos conflict with ECS and therefore that needs to be disabled sometimes so it doesn't throw an error light.

Also stay away from dealerships. They don't know a damned thing about working on our cars stock, let alone modding them with aftermarket parts. On top of that they overcharge. Generally, I'm 100% opposed to them.

Lastly, I hate to say it, but 3si doesn't require the $10, that is optional. You can post and search for free. However, as said above, you can't use hotmail and other free web-based email providers. If you contact alan92rttt either via email or private message here, he can help you out with issues related to 3si...hope that helps some.
