98 Blazer LT

I have "the" vibration of the front end (over 65MPH). I have had the tires replaced and balanced. Wheel Hubs FL and FR replaced. The garage just does not have a difinitive part that could be doing this. I see on the Forum that this is a pretty common issue with Blazers! I have had things checked but nothing seems wrong. There is 92K on the truck. I don't have the $$ to guess. The garage seems the think possibly Axils might be the way to go. Has anyone found the answer to this issue? Any help would be great. I really like the truck. I drive it mostly in the winter up in the Northeast, but that highway drive home to CT is a killer when I think the truck might come apart.

Well, you haven't mentioned if it's a 4WD truck or not, but needless to say.....I'd jack the truck up on jack stands....pull a floor jack around under the lwr control arm jack it up to take pressure off of the shocks, then see if you have loose ball joints....

92K you are do for some....that will cause a vibration...but not sure what "the" vibration means...but typically after 100K the truck starts to loose up abit...

Can you describe how bad "the" vibration is ? Can you drive it...is it like tire shake where you can't read the road signs ? Can you feel it in the steering wheel ? Did it do it before you got tires ?....Is there slop in the steering too ?

All these things can collectively contribute to a bounce...but these are just thoughts...

It is a 4x4 truck. I called it "the" vibration because after some searching , I found alot of guys out there with similar issues of front end vibration. I have new tires Goodyear Wrangler RT/S P235/75R15.
You can feel the vibration in the seats, dashboard, side mirrors, passenger side floor and stearing wheel. It is drivable (i can still read the signs). When it started I was told to replace the front tires. So after that I was told to change the rear tires. I also just took it for a run in 4x4 up to 70mph and it is still there. I had some slop in the stearing but a control arm seems to have fixed that. There is a clunk sound when i go from stop and make a hard right turn. Like pulling from a parking place at the mall. This happens when I am in 2 wheel. I have not tried that in 4 wheel.

I think the clunk noise is unrelated to your problem. My 98 4x4 4-door Blazer does it too, but I have no vibration. Many on here have mentioned their Blazers doing the same thing (the clunk), and a few suggested it may be a sticking brake caliper on that side. I had my brakes checked, and they are fine, so I'm at a loss as to what's causing it.

On a related note, my dad's 2000 GMC Savana van does the same thing. Both will clunk occasionally from the passenger side front wheel area upon moving after sitting still (usually when turning the wheel like backing out of a parking space).

Hey guys, Here is some new info to my vibration issues...
When I turn to the right at 35mph I get a grind noise like the brake is shot. The weird thing here is, it doesn't do it every time. It seems iintermittent. I have it at the shop now to have the ball joints checked, drive shaft checked and I hope the grind will happen so as the garage can determine what is happening. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

We are out of the garage. The ball joints are good, ujoints no problem, drive shafts shows no missing weights or marks.
The FR brake shield rusted and hit the rotor when turning which caused the grind sound, replaced and all is well. Switched the front and rear tires and the vibration is different! The garge suggests a new set of tires and something less aggressive. I have Goodyear Wrangler RT/S P235/75R15. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good tire for snow as well as any experience with the Goodyear vibrating?

Get your tires rotated and balanced first. This may solve your vibration issue.

The clunk, I guess could be a called a pop. I do feel it in the floor. I thought, at first a upper control arm, it kinda comes from that area on the right side of the truck. The garage i went to doesn't find anything wrong.

The pop/clunk could be your torsion bar crossmember. I was getting a loud pop like someone smacking the right side floor with a hammer. It would only happen every once in a while when I had the wheel turned all the way left.
