its for an impala SS lt1 but i think it would work on my car. the only thing in question would be the box around the air filter being too big to fit in between the engine and the cooling fans.
sweet ass intake tho.

i see only one fatal flaw, if you drive in the rain, your air filter is going to be soaking wet, which means your going to be getting alot of moisture in your engine and be at a very high risk of hydrolock. (aka, need to buy a new engine) I personally wouldnt get it unless you were going to turn it 90 degrees to the side and route the cold air in from inside your fender. but thats just me.

I am sure the dimensions on it aren't correct. As the Impala's and caprice's route there intake differently. So I think you would be modifying it.

i think the acutal airbox is too large in diameter. from looking at the pics it seems the caprice/impala had ALOT more room between the throtte body and the radiator shroud.
89, you think it would get that much water in it, it says it has a drain on the back side at the bottom. im sure it would get some. on that note, my brother has his ls1 camaro breathing through the big ass holes on the front bumper, do you think that would do the same?

well, im speaking from experience with corvettes, there is an aftermarket intake like that that routes the airbox down in front of the radiator into the space where the radiator pulls air up from behind the bumper. Every case of hydrolock ive seen was due to that kind of intake. Also even if the water drains out and dosnt cause hydrolock (still a big gamble in my opinion) your air filter will be dripping wet, and its going to act like a plug in your air intake, youre gonna lose alot of power when its wet outside.

If you don't drive in the rain you'll be fine. I've seen several cars go down because of water sucked up into the intake. For 4th gen F-bodies that have those intakes, they now come with a block off plate for such days with rain.

hell i think its worth it to pop a little cap on it during the rain, i mean its not like i need to be stomping it in the rain anyway, or like i would get full power or traction in the rain anyway.

Jokes - I emailed those same guys months ago asking the same thing...
I'm only really interested in the bottom "scoop" portion of the kit - would like to have one of those sticking out before each front tire feeding cold air kits in either front quarter, with a nice ram air intake + hood up front with all three avenues joining together before the MAF & TB.
Just wonder how the hell I'd tie them all in together.

if only i had a plastic mold maker caster thingy, id have my whole front end sucking in air. i'd have my battery in the trunk and have two 4" intakes going down either side. oh man

nah im serious, just through a ram air scoop and an electric superduperturbocharger on there that runs off AA batteries, that will be the same as a supercharger right?
