98 Taurus High Beam Dash Light

Ok, I was checking all the bulbs on my instrument cluster, and I came acrss a bulb for the high beam light. Well, this bulb has never lit when my high beams were on, so I checked to make sure the bulb was still good. It tested good, and it worked in other bulb ports. Then I tested the wire giving the voltage, and it tested like 4-5 volts. Any suggestions? Not having it is fine, but since my car has the bulb, why not use it?!?

I have the same problem w/ my '98 Taurus. High beam light indicator on dash doesn't work. My has flickered on and off intermittently as well. My advise, get used to it and don't worry about trying to fix it. I've noticed that the high beams aren't that bright anyway and most oncoming cars don't even flash me when I forget to dim them!!

Check the ground.
