Hello. My replaced radiator in my 1990 sprung a leak which i hope i have amended w/ the help of the local radiator shop.
Anyway, i was wondering if i could test my leak repairs with normal water instead of antifreeze. I dont have a suitable container for catching leaked antifreeze and i cant afford to replenish my supply after every leak repair....soo...would normal tap water work to run in my radiator for like 2 minutes, or would it be a bad idea? Distilled water, if anything, or tap water OK?
I'm going to assume this is a dumb idea but i'd figure i'd ask anyhow...

Water is fine to run in the springtime. Just dont leave it in too log because it will rust your cooling system

I skipped the water test and just went with antifreeze.... i figured that if it was going to leak id see it fairly soon since the leak was at the bottom of the radiator
