Ball joint

I have a 1993 k1500. I have replaced the front axles, now the bolt on the bottom of the upper ball joint spins when i try to tighten the nut. can anyone tell me how to get around this.

One option is to tighten it when the wheel is on it and the jack stand is removed. With a load on it, it won't spin.

Otherwise, put a floor jack under the lower control arm and jack it up so that there is a load on it. You can also use a pry bar on the upper control arm and pry the arm down while you tighten the nut.
