I've started this kit just a week ago. I wanted to use it to improve my modelling skills before I tackled the rest of my VW Beetle WRC project.
I also experimented on it. I used Motip Semi-Gloss Black as a primer, and Tamiya Metallic Blue as colour. Odd, you say? Yes it is! But the result fits perfectly on this Merc.
The Orange decals I used for the seats and the bodywork come from the Revell VW Beetle Tuning Edition kit, and they look cool on the blue paint.
The spoiler comes from the Revell Mitsu Lancer EVO VI kit, and the fit was almost perfect with no sanding and a little bit of cutting.
The interior will be filled with woofers and amplifiers an the back seats.
Like they say in Belgium, it's going to be a real "Johnnybak", and I love it.

Yow, Stijn!

This is looking really nice in the pics, as well as in real life.
Glad you fixed the side thingies on it, and keep it coming!

NOW FINISH IT !

To make it more "johnny en marina", I installed a speaker lay-out in the car interior. It's going to be detailed. What you see here is a picture of the dry-fitted parts

I had a little accident when I was transporting the kit to my appartment in Brussels. Because of that, I have the impression of a cardboard box on the roof of my benz. It's nothing serious, I already polished it away, but I didn't have time to take a new picture. I have learnt the hard way that you have to be carefull when transporting your kits, so consider this pic as a warning

The speaker lay-out is detailed with 2 amps and 7 speakers. I've placed floor mats, but I forgot to take a picture. I took another picture of the car body, and as you see, the colour looks nice when it catches some sun.
Comments are always welcome!
