Ok I'm going to set up a little tournement using very descrptive rules on based on the competition in the spaminator's thread.

Race is held on Nurburgring and you only have $50k to spend, that includes the initial cost of the car plus the parts used to upgrade it. Make SURE to record every single exspense put to the car, so you might want to whip out a peice of paper and calculator for that, then transfer those records over here once you've placed your entry. Rankings will be based on your fastest lap (duh) around Nurburgring and you may take as many laps as you'd like, but only submitting your best lap (duh again). Also if you could get a pic of the screen showing your time that'd be greatly appreciated to making you aren't a cheating bastard :grinno: But if I do feel like something is fishy, I'll take your list of mods and car and see if it truly adds up to $50k and the time you posted

So, quick recap
-$50k for car + parts
-EVERY exspense must be recorded
-Best lap around around Nurbur (photo proof welcome)
-You can enter multiple entries, but they must be of different cars, and already posted times can be edited, but you must make me aware of that

I'd like entries to look something along the lines of this:

Car year, make and model
-time completed

-mods = price
= total $ spent

See? nice, easy, and clear, now get out there and race. It'll be interesting to see how fast we can do with $50k. used car lot here I come!!!!!!

Thanks, I was using the Rx7's stock transmission so the gearing felt a bit taller that I'd like for it to be, it didn't even top out on the last looooooooooooong straightaway. Anyways, my next text subject is gonna be a Trueno, that'll be interesting....

spaminator
05-31-2005, 05:35 PM
that will be pretty interesting. I think I might go for a 91 supra or a FC rx or something.

that will be pretty interesting. I think I might go for a 91 supra or a FC rx or something.

Well the eight-six turned out some crap ass time, best was in the 8 minutes 15 secs range. Tried out the FC, broke into the higher 7 mintues times, but the FD is still the fastest out of em and I think it actually handled better than the eight-six, it kinda oversteered in corners which with the right throttle play shot me around some of those corners pretty quick. I'm not sure what else to test out....

spaminator
05-31-2005, 10:16 PM
maybe a skyrine. or an Supra RZ. I've pretty good luck with that. Just for shits and giggles I ran the Cuda 440 fully modded out with racing meds and I didn't even break 8'30 it was like "under, under, under, SPIN weeeeee"

That car is kinda unfair, but then again it does fit into the rules. I'm not sure rather to allow it or not. I think I'll just allow for this 1st week of competition.

"sniff" "sniff" i smell bullshit, BUT I SPUN 3 TIMES, there is no way u could get that time if u spun out 3 times. plus on stock tires your car would have ben all over the places. from the sound of your discreption it was al over the place. its not impossible but spinning out 3 times and still posting that lap time would be insanly hard.

XeVeNskyLiNE
06-01-2005, 11:31 PM
^^^agreed, I don't see how you spun out 3 times and still got that time. I ran off the road 3 times and still got that 7' 16. Oh well, back to the grind for me....

hey one prob guys i live in aus can i just copy someone elses car and mods and then go from there or how much can i spend in the aus version???

Um, is the cost for everything different just because its an Aussie version? I think it should be the same cuz GT4's currency is "credits", not like dollars, or yen, or euros.

spaminator
06-01-2005, 11:38 PM
Have you done the mission 34 in the game. From i spent so long driving the track i dropped over 30 secs from my time. It's possible. BTW i ran 13 laps to get that time. That's the reason behind my rant. The time before my posted time i spun so much and i still posted a 7'25.

by the way the HPA R32 comes with sport softs. Most people just bypass the hard slicks because most of the time the slicks don't get up to their optimum temperature(which makes the grip in the slicks) especially when their is no tire wear on the practice sessions.

One more thing; Since we're doing production cars next round, can we do a mandatory oil change on used cars and not affect the total price (in other words make it free)?

Its only 50 creds, its not gonna be life or death. But anyways, word of advice man, for I track like this with so many dips, hills and turns, suspension upgrades is a MUST.

i think that everything at GT auto should be free (car wash, oc, wheels and wing) also propose that for this next round we set a drivetrain limit like FR only or 4WD or FF MR RR. you know. So is round 2 definently at tsukuba?.
