Come on give it some credit, its not far fetched. Neither car is really my style but look at the facts. The SRT4 is a good example of power for price, the NSX is a terrible example of power for price, all he wrote is that it beat it up a hill on a roll. I would definately believe it, they run about the same times and I am sure the NSX is better off the launch due to the RWD and fatter tires. I would be happy to see a SRT4 take down a NSX, they are way overpriced and they never change anything about them really.

I totally...disagree. The NSX isn't built for straight line performance, thus it's not overpriced. Have you seen videos of stock NSXs beating Lamborghinis, Ferraris and the CSL M3s around the track? Yeah, they may not look good on paper with that 3.2L V6, but they shine in other departments.
And they do not run the same times. The NSX should pull away from a stock SRT-4. We know how crazy those SRT-4s can get with little money put into them, so if he's modded, I wouldn't doubt that he can take one. But stock, the NSX should win.
I agree that they should have changed their styling more, but it's still a great performance car for the track.

a stock 03 nsx is the same speed as a E46 M3. those things have a top speed of 170mph + and they trap at over 106mph. of course its kinda believeable becasue the race was uphill so the tq of the srt4 definitly helped it out big time.

I doubt those 15 lb/ft of torque would make such a huge difference to erase, what, 50 hp? The NSX driver was probably just an idiot.
On another note, 01 CL had more torque than the NSX, which I think is pathetic.

You should watch BMI videos, the NSX-R puts some hurt on the Lamborghini Gallardo and Mucielago. Not to mention the Ferrari 360 Modena F1... Porsche 911 Turbo and BMW M3 CSL. In a single race.
Eventually the Lambo's overtake the NSX due to shear power differences in the straights. But in the turns, they had a hard time keeping up. It was only a 5 lap race, the Lambos didn't pass till the last lap on Motegi East course.
Sure, it may seem over priced. But they're still a quick car anyway you slice it.

well, if anything NSX that i would drive would be the old ones, back when honda first started using V-Tec...thoes are pretty fast.
i wasnt saying they wernt quick, i was just saying they seem overpriced to me...i mean lambos are overpriced if you arel ooking at shear performance in the corners compared to some other cars, nearly as good performance for 1/4th the cost...but they are also proven badass cars and which would you rather say "i drive a lamborghini" or "i drive a c6 with GM aftermarket suspension"
i mean, jesus...its an acura...nice cars but they are still acuras...acura doesnt have the history. im not afraid to admit ill pay for the name...
another car to look at at almost hte exact same price, a dodge viper. sure an NSX with more neutral balence and more "for the twisties" tuned suspension will walk away from a viper in the twisties....but when the viper gets the chance, just like you (redneck) said with the lambo's, to let the gates drop on all 505hp the NSX will be destroyed.
IMO if you are looking for bang for buck twistie car...the elise is your best bet if you dont mind the lack of leg room.

I know what you're saying... them new Elise's are flippin sweet.
I drive past a exotic dealership from time to time... and they usually have about anywhere from $800,000 to $2,000,000 worth of inventory sitting out front. And that's just between four cars.
Inside is even better!
Out front they now have parked on a regular basis a Lotus Elise, a Ferrari 430, that new Rolls Royce mega cushy fast car and a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Inside, at one time they had a Jaguar XJ220, a Lamborghini Diablo SV, 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS (Magnum p.i. car) and various other cars I can't even remember.
Cool place. It's odd to drive there in my car... people actually stop to check it out rather than come in to see the cars that are actually worth money.

Great Post TypeS, buy as you saw in there, 580hp>290hp...but if it was a track of nothing but tight S-curves, extreme 90 degree bends, hairpins that are too tight to accelerate through....the NSX would walk from all of thoes cars....and tha BMW was holding its own agianst the porsche.
however, im really looking at this viper v NSX on street tires and brakes. the viper has a 52/48 weight distribution and a pretty tight turning radius... and i beleive, if memory serves, it can pull more than 1g lateral on street tires...however i dont remember what the NSX can do... someone care to google it? im tired and lazy

Best Selling Cars by Gender
Dan Lienert
We knew something wasn't right with the 2003 movie '2 Fast 2 Furious.' Specifically, we could not believe the angry, muscular ex-convict played by Tyrese Gibson would not only tolerate -- but want to drive -- a purple Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder.
This was way too cute and girly of a car to be a male protagonist's ride of choice in a film about illegal street racing in cutting-edge Japanese vehicles. Now, based on data generated by Kelley Blue Book last week, we can quantify the Eclipse's femininity: the Eclipse Spyder convertible has the highest percentage of female registrants of any car on the market. The hardtop Eclipse coupe has the fourth highest.
The figures are based on American registrations of new 2005 and 2006 model cars between January of this year and press time.
Registration data does not necessarily tell us who is driving the cars -- parents put their kids' cars in their names; husbands put their wives' cars in their names and vice-versa -- but it is the closest we can come to understanding gender demographics in new-car purchasing.
Most Popular Cars With Men:
1. Acura NSX
2. Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG
3. Dodge Viper SRT-10
4. GMC Yukon XL2500
5. Jaguar XJR
Most Popular Cars With Women:
1. Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
2. Saturn L300
3. Toyota RAV4
4. Mitsubishi Eclipse
5. Land Rover Freelander
The cars in the slideshow are extremely telling. They indicate that, for the most part, women buy cars that are affordable, practical and safe, and with a dash of design flair --as evidenced by such models as the Eclipse and Toyota Motor's RAV4 sport utility vehicle (SUV).
Men, on the other hand, appear to love luxurious, high-performance cars. The average horsepower (hp) of a car on our list of the five most popular vehicles with men is 367; with women, it's 172.
And while men are willing to buy feminine cars, women don't go for the testosterone-fueled sports and luxury cars with the same enthusiasm. With the most popular car for women, the Eclipse Spyder, 34.2 percent of its registrants this year have been men -- indicating that the kind of affordable sportiness the car provides cuts across gender lines. Most people like a bargain, after all.
But with the most extremely masculine vehicles out there, women don't seem to be interested. No women have registered for one of Honda Motor's Acura NSX sports cars this year. And with DaimlerChrysler's Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG performance sedan, only 1.8 percent of its registrants this year have been women.
The idea that you can sell a woman's car to a man, but you can't sell a man's car to a woman is true not only on the level of individual models, but also for brands in general. The brand that has had the highest percentage of female registrants so far this year, General Motors' Pontiac subsidiary, still sells cars to a buying populace that is 47percent male. DaimlerChrysler's Dodge subsidiary, with its trademark aggressive styling and a lineup that includes such macho cars as the Ram pickup and Viper SRT-10 convertible, has the highest percentage of male registrants--and only 14.8 percent of people who have registered a Dodge this year have been women.
The Most Masculine Brands
Ranking Brand Percentage of Male Registrants This Year
