Got cams? Got brakes?

If you have installed longer duration or high lift (or both) cams, you may have noticed your brakes are not as wonderful as they used to be. Since our brakes are assisted by the intake manifold vac, pulling less vac at idle with big cams can make this interesting in a bad (read dangerous) way.

I know my brakes were out right scary until NoShoes tuned my car. They are "good" now, but occasionally they still suck. Enough that it would cause me great concern while hill climbing the car.

Thanks to Jim (aka redblues), I found out about this nice little part:

Did you install a large cam and gain problems with your power brakes?
These kits allow you to store the vacuum you need to use your vacuum-assisted power brakes. These systems use a one-way check valve that will store the vacuum until you need it. The kits can be installed in tight areas, and come complete with all necessary hardware, except for the power brake hose.

I just ordered mine.
