b18 swap shift linkage

can anyone help me and give an exact measuement on how much I have to cut off the b18a1 shift linkage to work on an 89 civic h.b I know its around 2 inches or 2 1/2 inches but I only want to this once thanks guys.

seriously man, if you dont have an linkage to compare it to, chances are you wont get it right. i cut and welded a set once, and it was only off by a little, but that little bit made it ridiculous to shift. i ended up buying some hasport.
but im not trying to convince you to buy hasport ones, im just saying that you should get someone elses linkage to compare it to when you cut and weld. we used my hasport as a comparison to make two more sets, and they both worked fine.
its not just the length that matters, the angle you reweld it at matters too. if you get the angle wrong, you are gonna be having to push the shifter really far to either side, and its gonna make the shifter harder to move.
