Anybody dying is horrible. Especially at that rate. Car accident are exact what they are. accidents. Basically I hate to hear people go that way.

terribly sorry man... yeah, car accidents are horrible... i just heard about one in my town yesterday too... some 18 yr old kid was driving with his mom, bent down to pick something up and when he looked back at the road a car was stopped in front of him, so he swerved into the other lane to avoid it, and hit a lady and killed her... don't know if she was a pedestrian or in a car, but it was horrible...

Well last night was probably the most shocking night I've ever had...one of my best friend's little sister died in a car accident. She was riding with some kid on a back road that didn't know the area well and he was going like 75 and realised a stop sign was coming up (2 way stop sign) and the kid slammed on the brakes, locked the wheels up and just slid right into the ditch and hit a telephone poll. Another one of my friends lives right on that corner and was the person that called 911. The kid driving was airlifted to Rockford and my friend's sister didn't even have a chance...
I knew what happend about 20 mins after the accident and my friend doesn't even know that I know yet...news travels fast in a small town. I'm just so stunned, I can't even imagine what my friend's family is going through.
This past saturday a friend of mine died in a car accident as well. It was 4:30 in the morning and he was going 110+ in a 40 mph zone. He came around one curve, then the car started to go sideways when he tried to bring it around the next curve. He lost control, locked up the brakes for a bit, left the road, and wrapped the car around a tree. It was totally demolished. It wasn't until hours later that a cop on patrol drove by and saw what happened. :( It's even worse because I know he was familiar with the road he was on.

"Latham was charged with disobeying a stop sign."
Thats it? WTF, maybe its me, and I'll probably get some negative feedback from what I am about to say, but that boy should be charged with more than disobeying a stop sign. WTF. A life was lost (and one at an early age), for what, speeding? When are these people going to start learning that you can't race these cars (especially a Saturn) like if its an indy 500 car. If I was the parent of that girl, I'll be so angry that that boy would wish he'll die in the hospital. If you feel like racing, do everyone a favor and take the car to an official racing site and race by yourself without risking others. I can only imagine what the family is going through.

This is why I would never race or drive excessively fast with a girl in my car, wouldnt be able to deal with it. A guy friend is different, they egg you on and such

If that kid knows my friend or his dad he will be praying he dies in the hospital because if he doesn't something very bad IS going to happen...

I know someone who has it worse. He was in highschool and he got into 3 car accidents and killed 3 people. 2 were involved with motorcycles. He's now in jail and 3 people are dead.
Some people can't drive...
We are not made to go this fast.

im sorry to hear about your loss. Not to start a fight or anything. But this is exactly why the driving age should be raised to 18 in the US. Anyone younger doesnt have the skill to drive safer or the common sense. So many times you hear about bad car accidents like this, it was a new driver behind the wheel not paying attention or showing off. I will admit, i did that alot when i was 16-17. I was pretty stupid behind the wheel. I think god i didnt have a fast car, or who knows what would have happened.
Im sorry for your loss man.

After having this happen I agree they should raise the driving age or have more restrictions. But not all drivers under 18 are idiots about driving.

But you also Have to realize that if the driving age is raised to 18 then these kids going of to college by themselves will not have any experience and this will be happening while they are going through the experimental phase of their life. I believe there will be more accidents if the driving age is changed maybe not right away but in the near future.
I am also not saying this to be an ass, but it's just my opinion with the situation. And Andy I am sorry for the loss
