Weird starting problem

This just started happening recently with my 96 Firebird (3.8). I go to start it and nothing happens. No clicking, no turning over, no nothing. The battery is good cuz I'm getting all the lights, it just wont start... the engine does nothing. If I let it sit for a few minutes then come back and try it again it will go ahead and start like nothings wrong. Any ideas on this?

I ran my computer on it and there are no codes being reported.

Clean your battery terminals of any corrosion, then make sure they are connected as good as possible. Sounds like a loose connection at the battery, dealt with it many times. If there's too much corrosion, the ground is bad, or if one of the cables is a little loose you can still get power to everything, but when you go to crank the engine it shorts out b/c of a bad ground and you get nothing.

Agreed...always clean the terminal ends well first. Those side post batteries are really affected by corrosion. Use baking soda mixed with water and soak the terminal ends in that for a little while...then pop out the terminal bolts and wire brush the cable end and the bolt real well. If there was any corrosion, that should take care of it.

If that doesn't fix it, then yea...sounds like a starter circuit issue.

Thanks. Will start with the terminals and go from there.
