I picked up my first car last saturday, a 94 Dodge Stealth R/T...Im pretty happy overall but I dont want to keep it stock. I like the way it sounds already, but I would like it to be louder but without sounding like I just stuck a muffler on it...I want to put a cat-back on it but Im not sure where to look or what brands to look for...Any body have any suggestions?

Borla Exhaust sounds really good on our cars, im sure plenty of people have gotten custom jobs that sounds nice also.

I'm not sure if ATR makes an N/A exhaust, but I heard that that one flows the best and sounds pretty good. Did you remove your resonator??? That'll make it louder for sure, but I think a Borla sounds like a plan to me

DO NOT remove the exhaust resonator. The car sounds like absolute crap without a resonator. Its sounds worse than a Honda with a fartcan.

Borla was my first thought to...but it seems that every cat back one I find is for the TT...Will this fit on the no-turbo models?

Yeah, I've had 3 Civics. Got rid of that last one and then picked up my 3000. Sure, my Civic was tons faster, but speeding only gets you tickets... but you get the ladies in a 3/S. lol

Besides, I've always love the looks of 3/S's. Always wanted one and when I was presented the opportunity to own such a legendary car, I snatched it up.

The resonator you are probably hearing about is the intake resonator. It makes the intake sound mean and throaty when its removed. The exhaust resonator sounds like 10,000 bees above 3k rpms, LOL.

Removing the resonator is a very common occurance. Yea some people don't like the sound without it, but most people don't run into the problem of having a sound they dont like until they have a tp and/or dp on there as well. I've had my cat-back on for almost a year (it removed the res and pre-muff) and I love the sound. Not ricey at all. I'm wondering what it will sound like when I get my tp on there this summer (I'm hoping a little bit throatier and louder). Alot of the rice sound depends on what muffler you get too. I highly reccomend Dynomax for mufflers. The intake resonator doesn't give a real noticeable sound change. You can hear it at WOT pretty well, but other than that there isn't any huge sound change.

When the test pipe goes in, the buzz will start.

That is one thing I'm worried about. I'm wondering if a tp with headers will make that better or worse too. If worst comes to worst, I'll just buy a res/glasspack/something and throw it on there. But I'm gonna hold off on that untl I see what the tp sounds like.

You will want a glasspack or whatever kind of resonator in the exhaust. I have gutted precats, 3sx dp, test pipe and stock TT catback and the buzz is annoying. I have to deal with it for now because I am too broke to come up with something else. Bills are more important than mods.

I have a 91 Stealth R/t Non-Turbo, and I put dual exhaust with 2.5" pipe for mufflers I used 18" glass packs b/c I was short of money at the time, I got a polished intake pipe and a matrix air filter, my exhaust sounds nothing like bees, it sounds like a LION (ROAR!)! Switching to dual exhaust your bumper, being an R/T will have a little recessed lip behind where you can cut out the hole for the 2nd pipe and it will look like it came stock w/ dual exhaust. I just got a Magan flow Hi-Flow cat but haven't installed it yet, I have to rebuild my engine first, but when I do I will let you know how it sounds with a hig flow cat.

It wont sound like bees buzzing because of the glass packs. They are essenially resonators. It will be even louder with a high flow cat in place of the stock cat.
