I just bought an 01 Maxima GLE with ONLY 36,000 miles for ONLY $15,000!
My 96 was wrecked when I was going down a street at about 60 and this guy in a 3rd gen F-150 blows by a red light and hits the driver side of the front of my car on the driver side. My car spins right into a Regal that was in the other lane and the passenger side/engine.
I had been thinking about a new car for a while, but cancelled those thoughts when I got my supercharger. Well, after the accident(my car hasn't been classified as totaled yet, but i'm pretty sure it will), I decided it was time. So last Sunday, I paid cash on my new black Maxima. The car feels as if it hasn't even been broken in yet!
This morning I went to a friends house, and on the way back I end up at a stoplight beside a 240 hatch. I wish I had a pic of this thing, it was white with red and yellow graphix and stickers all over. the exhaust was huge and the tailights had this stupid cover over them. It was dropped and on about 18, 19'' white rims. I was laughing my ass of in my car when I saw this. Just for kicks, I went into neutral and started revving. Of course he responds. It sounded like a super-leafblower!
When the light goes green(it took forever), I slam it and I think he did too,, or atleast I hope he didn't. He got the initial jump, but by second I was pulling easily, third I had 1 1/2 lengths. I waited up for him, wanting to go from a roll, when he catches up I (VERY STUPIDLY) "downshift". Of course, not remembering my new car is an automatic I went into neutral. Not realizing this yet, I panicked, thinking I broke something already.
The 240 pulls away as I'm still wandering what the fuck was wrong, I "upshifted" and felt kick again. I'm thinking that 2nd is fucked up until I finally look down. :loser:

 Good story. I've done that in my dad's Passport. I take off from home, and then I try to shift to 2nd and it just feels funny. Driving a manual for too long makes it awkward to drive an auto these days.

 Lol I did the same "upshifting" thing in the Jetta when it had ATX. Funny thing is, sometimes putting it in neutral and back into drive quickly will downshift, making it somewhat livable. I swapped a 6-speed in it later...
Good death, too. Odds are that the 240 guy will brag about how he beat a "700hp Maxima with NOS" or some shit like that in the near future. Ricers... screwing up the culture.

and driving a manual does do weird things when u get an automatic...every time I start the protege I "clutch" the clutch thats not there, and my hands always on the shifter...

Annoying? What are you talking about? I don't find me being annoying in any posts I made, and especially not in this one?
Please fill me in and tell me the "annoying" part about my reply. I though all I did was congratulate the guy on his kill... Guess I was wrong... according to some people. :disappoin

Yeah, I used to hammer on the kickplate and try and wiggle the shifter every time I started the Jetta when it was ATX. My dad does the same thing with his new Passat.
At least he has the little shift gate so he can somewhat control the tranny. It's a neat little feature.
